Poverty should not be a barrier to healthy eating
invest in our state’s health Now - DECEMBER 21
Deeper sleep. Renewed energy. Physical and mental well-being.
These are gifts 1.7 million Georgians do not have the luxury of experiencing as a result of limited access to fresh food. Luckily, this is where Wholesome Wave Georgia has made a difference since 2009.
Who We Serve:
This year we’ve served thousands of food-insecure Georgians, including our friend Angel. Before participating in our six-month Fruit and Vegetable Prescription (FVRx) program, Angel endured two heart attacks, a stroke, and battled high cholesterol. Since FVRx, Angel has lost 27 pounds, reduced her blood pressure, and is able to affordably shop at the farmers market for fresh produce.
How You Can Help:
Your investment will provide healthy, locally-grown food to families like Angel’s plus put more money back into the pockets of Georgia farmers.
